KKR Mistakes 24 Cr Venkatesh Iyer, Letting Go Starc, Salt, Shreyas

The Kolkata Knight Riders seem to have lost their passion to win games this season, losing three of the six games they have played yet this season.

Although the team has a good captain in Ajinkya Rahane, it does not take rocket science to reveal the fact that Rahane is not a T20 captain or player, never was.

While there is no doubt about his mastery of test cricket, the T20 format is like a different game altogether, and one that Rahane seems to struggle in, despite currently performing better than the rest in doing his job.

It looks like the biggest mistake for KKR was to not go ahead with getting Mitchell Starc, Shreyas Iyer and Phil Salt for this season.

Apart from that, spending a hefty amount of Rs.24 Crores on Venkatesh Iyer is proving to be a huge mistake, as Venky, although a fantastic player, does not seem worthy of the price tag.

With such blunders in the auction, it will be interesting to see if KKR manages to turn things around, or if they crumble under the pressure of half-baked decisions.
