MI Captaincy Mess: Hardik Worst Choice?

Mumbai Indians Hardik Pandya

Mumbai Indians have been going through a particularly bad IPL season, one that seems very uncharacteristic of themselves.

Sitting at the 8th spot in the points table, it is only natural that Hardik Pandya is receiving a major chunk of the blame due to his subpar captaincy.

While there is no doubt that Hardik as a player is as deadly as can be for the opposition, Hardik, the captain, seems to be failing at every one of his decisions.

Despite having quality captains in the team in the form of Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav, the MI management seems to be adamant about keeping Pandya in the role for reasons unknown to cricket pundits.

While Hardik turned out to be a successful captain for GT, his failure in MI, despite having a better team, indicates some serious problems.

The rotation of bowlers is so bad that Pandya himself seems to be taking all the wickets in each game.

The MI management needs to realise their mistake and quickly take the necessary measures to make sure that a failed captaincy doesn’t cost MI the whole tournament.
