RCB Needs A Reality Check, Now!

RCB Needs A Reality Check

Despite having the greatest white ball player of this generation in the form of Virat Kohli, IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has always been struggling to win the title.

It has been 18 years since the start of the tournament, and RCB hasn’t won the title till now. They have had supremely strong squads in the past but none could get them over the line.

But things are looking promising this year with RCB already having defeated Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. This could perhaps be considered as an indication that the Bengaluru franchise is ready to take on champion teams, and go for glory.

But historical speaking, it is an established fact that RCB is very weak in performing in high stakes games.

This was already in 2016, when Bengaluru lost the final to Sunrisers Hyderabad. This was the closest they came to winning the IPL over the years, and they could somehow mess up this opportunity in their home ground of Bengaluru.

Even this year, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will have to be extremely cautious about the knockout stages. Considering their weak track record in the penalty mate matches, the Bengaluru side will have to have a reality check and assess the conditions rather than go with a lot of confidence after defeating Chennai and Mumbai.
