Gautam Gambhir and controversial statements always somehow find one another at one time or the other.
This time, it’s regarding the tragic stampede that occurred during RCB’s celebration in Bengaluru.
Gambhir reacted to the same, saying that he had never liked such grand celebrations and is ‘a believer of not having road shows’.
His exact words were, “I’m always a believer of not having road shows. You cannot lose 11 people. If you weren’t ready to hold the road show, you shouldn’t have gone ahead. We can be more responsible for such things.”
While there is nothing wrong with this statement, RCB fans were quick to remind him of 2012, when the KKR team celebrated in a much similar manner after winning the finals.
While fighting on these issues will never stop, the blame game must end. People have lost their lives. People who were there to just catch a glimpse of their beloved Virat Kohli.
Let us keep the petty ‘tu tu mai mai’ aside and for once, show real empathy for the innocent souls who just went to watch a celebration, only to never return to their loved ones again.
