RCB’s 10 Lakh Offer Triggers Social Media Outrage

What started as a victory march and celebration soon ended in a tragedy. Yes we are talking about the recent stampede that happened in Bengaluru post RCB’s win at the IPL.

While the team flew from Ahmedabad to Bangalore the very next day for felicitation by the Karnataka Government, tragedy struck after a terrible stampede at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Till now, there have been 11 fatalities and over 30 injured.
In the midst of all this, an FIR has been filed against RCB and its event management company by the Bangalore police.

On that note, RCB has also announced that they will give Rs. 10 lakh each to the 11 victims who died during the stampede.

Meanwhile, the high court also lashed out at the Karnataka government over poor management that led to the tragic event on June 4, 2025, a day after RCB won their first-ever IPL cup.

Some of their questions were pretty straightforward:
How many gates were open?
What were the preparations?
Who was managing the events?

The court is right on its part in asking the questions. While it was already estimated that there will be a huge crowd given a huge win and loyal fan base, why didn’t the government take sufficient measures to curb issues during the event.

The road show for the RCB team was already cancelled in the morning due to the same reason, with the government admitting that the police won’t be able to handle the crowd. The same could have been done for the other events for the day, with alternate routes or restricted access to certain areas.

The Karnataka government may have highly failed this time in managing the event, resulting in the loss of poor lives, fans who were just celebrating the team’s win a day ago.
