Despite such figures, the impressive performance of KL Rahul in ODIs always leads to him being preferred over Pant.
KL Rahul had an extremely good CT tournament with the bat, scoring crucial runs for the team in their time of need.

He also has much more ODI experience than Pant, having played a total of 84 matches with an average of 48.53, compared to the latter’s mere 27 matches with an average of 33.50.
With Sanju Samson bagging the T20 wicket-keeping position, Pant has no choice left but to wait for test matches to show his keeping prowess, or even be included in the Playing XI.
This is not Pant’s bad luck as much as it’s Rahul’s hard work and good form, along with better experience, that forces Pant to sit and warm the benches.
Although it might hurt some people, by looking at the current dynamics, Pant’s white ball wicket-keeping is only possible if Rahul is unavailable in the future or loses his current form.
Till then, Rishabh Pant will have little to no say in the matter other than sitting and warming the benches.
