Men in Women’s Cricket? Nepo Player Under Fire

Cricket commentator and coach Sanjay Bangar’s ‘daughter’ has been under fire for speculations that she would be playing in the Indian women’s team pretty soon.

But for this time, the reason is not nepotism. Ananya Bangar, who was originally a boy named Aryan Bangar, had a transformation procedure turning him into a girl from the outside, as she identifies as a female.

Hence, her entry into Indian cricket was bound to bring controversies with it, as many have complained that it would be highly unfair to the other female athletes if a ‘biological male’ came and played their sport.

Science has proven time and again that the male body is naturally built in a way to have more strength than the female body, just because of the course of evolution.

Hence, any biological male would definitely have some leverage if given a chance to play in women’s sports.

With the controversy out in the open, it will be interesting to see what decision the BCCI takes, as it would certainly pave the way for future verdicts when it comes to having trans women in the women’s team.
