MI in Trouble: Star Players Out, New Captain Named

Suryakumar Yadav To Captain MI Opening Match Against CSK

In a shocking chain of events, Mumbai Indians fans will have to make do with skipper Hardik Pandya not playing the first game due to a last-season ban.

At the same time, Jasprit Bumrah will also be unable to make it in the initial few games due to his ongoing recovery from the injuries received in the BGT.

While Hardik received a lot of criticism for ‘snatching’ the captaincy from Rohit Sharma last season, he seems to be mending things this time by showering praises on his teammates.

He remarked, “I’m lucky that I have 3 captains playing with me. Rohit, Surya and Bumrah. They always place an arm around my shoulder.”

Reports claim that Suryakumar Yadav will step forward to fulfil the role of the captain in Hardik’s absence during MI’s first game against Dhoni’s CSK on March 23rd, 2025.

It will be interesting to see how well can Mumbai perform with two of their top brass missing in action in the high-stakes match against the Super Kings.
