Sivakarthikeyan, after the blockbuster success of Amaran, is currently acting as the lead in two projects: Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, and Madharasi, directed by AR Murugadoss.
Amaran, which was released last year, collected around 350 crores worldwide, and Sivakarthikeyan has officially entered the top-tier actors list in Kollywood with the box office collections of Amaran.
According to strong speculation, following Parasakthi and Madharasi, Sivakarthikeyan is going to collaborate with three directors – Cibi Chakaravarthi, Venkat Prabhu, and Vinayak Chandrasekaran – for his upcoming projects. Also, Pushkar-Gayatri of Vikram Vedha fame are reportedly in talks with Sivakarthikeyan for his next.
Following this massive lineup, many Kollywood trackers are predicting that if all these projects become blockbuster successes, Sivakarthikeyan could easily take Vijay’s place, as Vijay is reportedly going to quit acting after Jana Nayagan to enter full-time politics.
However, after Vijay’s last film, there will be a huge vacuum in his place. While many Kollywood audiences believe that Suriya or Dhanush will be the top contenders in the race for Vijay’s position, Sivakarthikeyan outshines them with the blockbuster success of Amaran. Therefore, trade experts say Sivakarthikeyan has huge potential to replace Vijay.
It remains to be seen how Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming projects will shape up and whether all of them become blockbuster successes, allowing Sivakarthikeyan to become the next Thalapathy of Kollywood.
