Kuberaa, starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna in lead roles and directed by Sekhar Kammula, is scheduled for a pan-Indian theatrical release on June 20th.
Yesterday, the Kuberaa team announced that the teaser of this movie will be out on May 25th, by releasing a poster featuring only Nagarjuna. This triggered Dhanush fans.
Following the poster, Dhanush fans on X started trending the #BoycottKuberaa tag for the exclusion of Dhanush from the poster, which caused a commotion.
However, the Kuberaa team had announced the teaser release with Nagarjuna’s poster first to celebrate his 39 years in the Indian film industry.
It appears the Kuberaa team plans to announce the teaser with individual character posters, as After Nagarjuna’s character poster, the Kuberaa team, just 20 minutes later, released the teaser announcement with Dhanush’s character poster.
Immediately after Dhanush’s poster, his fans calmed down and stopped trending the #BoycottKuberaa tag on the X platform.
This mild misunderstanding between the Kuberaa team and Dhanush fans caused a commotion on social media yesterday.
Nevertheless, the most anticipated teaser of Kuberaa is going to be released tomorrow, and it remains to be seen whether the teaser fuels the hype for the movie amongst audiences and whether Kuberaa becomes a blockbuster success upon its release on June 20th.
