Superstar Rajinikanth is set to reprise his iconic role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian in the sequel to Jailer (2023). The sequel, titled Jailer 2, will once again be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.

To announce the sequel, the makers dropped an exciting 4-minute teaser. The video starts with director Nelson and musician Anirudh Ravichander engaging in their usual fun banter.

Things take a thrilling turn when people suddenly fall through the roof and windows, and a shadowy figure holding a butcher knife and gun steps into the scene.

As the figure walks outside, three armored cars burst into the compound. The man reveals himself to be Rajinikanth’s character, Muthuvel Pandian, as he takes down his enemies with high-intensity action and terrific BGM.

The teaser ends on a high note, with the announcement of Jailer 2, and features a remix of the hit song “Hukum” from the first movie, titled “Hukum (Reloaded).”

Jailer 2 announcement video is quirky, fun, and also elevates Rajnikanth’s heroism to the next level. Going by the teaser, the expectations from Jailer 2 have manifold. It looks like a sure-shot 1000-crore film.

If Vijay or Lokesh Kanagaraj fail to deliver with Thalapathy 69 and Coolie, then Jailer 2 is best bet for the Tamil industry to score the first 1000-crore film.

The video is also sure to create jealousy, insecurity, and panic among senior superstars who are struggling to deliver a blockbuster.

Jailer (2023) was a massive hit, becoming one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. It told the story of a former jail warden seeking revenge after his son goes missing and is presumed dead.

Rajinikanth is also currently working on Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
