Jyothika Lost Her Chance to Overcome Kanguva

Suriya’s most anticipated Retro directed by Karthik Subbaraj, which was released in theaters on May 1st, has received mixed responses from audiences and is heading towards theatrical failure.

Every Kollywood audience expected that Suriya would make a comeback with Retro, but it has failed to satisfy their expectations, and Suriya’s failure streak continues.

During Kanguva’s theatrical release, Suriya’s wife, Jyothika, was very upset and openly criticized everyone who trolled the movie in an open note on Instagram.

Following the failure of Retro, now, some netizens on social media commented that Jyothika might have thought Retro would provide a significant relief after Kanguva’s setback, but Retro has also failed to resonate with audiences.

Recently, she acted in a Netflix series, Dabba Cartel, which also failed to create an impact, and Jyothika’s acting performance went unnoticed. Additionally, actress Simran, at an award function, indirectly attacked Jyothika, saying that she would act in “aunty or mother roles, unlike a ‘dabba’ role.”

For the past few years, things haven’t been going well for Suriya and Jyothika, and the failure of Retro will likely cause Jyothika more disappointment, offering no relief, according to Kollywood audiences.

However, Jyothika is now acting in an untitled Bollywood movie directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Suriya’s Suriya 45 is nearing the final stages of shooting. It remains to be seen whether these two projects will be successful and bring some relief to Jyothika and Suriya.
