Since then, several names have surfaced online, including Pradeep Ranganathan and Sundar C. But now, strong speculation suggests that Nelson Dilipkumar may take charge of this highly anticipated project. According to reports, the story he narrated to Rajinikanth received approval from Kamal Haasan as well.

Meanwhile, sources claim that Lokesh Kanagaraj’s version of the story was rejected for being “too violent,” leading both superstars to consider Nelson instead.

Fans appear divided over this development. Many are thrilled, recalling how Nelson showcased a fresh and stylish side of Rajinikanth in Jailer. They believe that if chosen, he could create something unique, blending his signature dark humour with the charisma of both legends.

On the other hand, some fans remain cautious. They point out that Nelson’s dark comedy style can be unpredictable delivering massive success like Jailer or disappointing results like Beast. For them, choosing him for such a monumental project might be a risky move.

For now, there is no official confirmation about the director. Fans and the industry are eagerly waiting to see whether Nelson Dilipkumar will indeed helm the Kamal Haasan–Rajinikanth reunion and how this once-in-a-generation collaboration will unfold.
