After the success of Meiyazhagan, Karthi has finished shooting two upcoming films – Vaa Vaathiyaar directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and Sardar 2 directed by P. S. Mithran. However, financial issues are delaying both projects, and release dates are yet to be confirmed by their production houses.
Currently, Karthi is filming Marshal under the direction of Tamizh. Earlier buzz suggested that after Marshal, he would begin work on Kaithi 2 with Lokesh Kanagaraj.
But strong rumours now indicate that Lokesh Kanagaraj has postponed Kaithi 2 to focus on a massive pan-Indian project starring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth. Reports claim Karthi might instead allocate his Kaithi 2 dates to a project with Sundar C.
This has sparked debate among fans. Some believe working with Sundar C would be a misstep for Karthi, calling the director outdated. They feel he should collaborate with a more promising filmmaker for such a crucial phase in his career.
As of now, no official confirmation has been made. Fans are waiting to see whether Karthi will move forward with Sundar C or stick to his earlier plans for Kaithi 2.
