Benz: Why Lokesh Kanagaraj Facing Severe Backlash?

Lokesh Kanagaraj during Benz discussion

Ever since actor Nivin Pauly revealed that he is maintaining the same look for his recent films only because of delays in the production process of Benz, social media has been flooded with severe criticisms against Lokesh Kanagaraj.

As everyone knows, after the blockbuster success of Vikram, Lokesh Kanagaraj, instead of concentrating on making LCU universe films, which were introduced in Vikram, he started doing star-studded films by collaborating with Vijay for Leo, Rajinikanth for Coolie and now working on AA23 with Allu Arjun.

Even though Leo had some LCU connections, it did not land well and many people felt it was a forced addition to the film. However, after the terrible failure of Coolie, the hype for the LCU universe was diluted and Lokesh Kanagaraj ended up as troll material among netizens.

Even after Coolie, some people believed that Lokesh Kanagaraj would use LCU universe films to make a comeback. Surprisingly, the director once again collaborated with a star actor, Allu Arjun, for AA23 while also working on his acting career in parallel.

Consequently, many people started criticizing Lokesh Kanagaraj claiming that he has completely neglected his LCU universe films and is only aiming to work with big stars. As these criticisms became a huge topic of discussion, Lokesh Kanagaraj clarified in an interview that he has not dropped the LCU universe films. He stated that it is his commitment and that he will definitely work on it once he completes AA23.

Furthermore, he noted that Benz, which is currently in the production stage and produced by him, is also an LCU film and that it will re-establish the hype for the LCU concept.

Subsequently, audiences started hoping that Benz would be released soon and bring back momentum for the LCU. However, Nivin Pauly confirmed in a recent interview that Benz still has more than 35 days of filming left and there has been no response from the production team when he tried to find out when the remaining shooting would happen.

Therefore, in response to Nivin Pauly’s revelation about the delay in the production of Benz, many people on social media are commenting that the LCU brand is definitely in a worrying phase.

They note that the LCU concept had a huge impact on Kollywood and if Lokesh Kanagaraj had planned and executed it well, it would have been a game-changer for the industry; instead, he has totally collapsed and wasted it. They highlight that while Kaithi 2 is still not on floors, Lokesh Kanagaraj brought in a new director to the LCU for Benz.

However, now that even Benz is facing continuous delays and Nivin Pauly has openly expressed his frustration over the situation, it looks like the LCU is a finished franchise and unless a miracle happens, the LCU cannot be revived.

Ultimately, Nivin Pauly’s revelation about the delay in the shooting of Benz continues to go viral on social media, sparking severe backlash against Lokesh Kanagaraj and many people are sharing their responses on it.
