lokesh-kanagaraj

Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently busy with the post-production work of Coolie, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, which is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14th.

Now, there is strong speculation that Arun Matheswaran, famed for Captain Miller, is going to direct a movie in which Lokesh Kanagaraj is going to debut as a lead actor.

Earlier, Arun Matheswaran was committed to directing Ilayaraja’s biopic with Dhanush. However, due to the delay in shooting, the buzz suggests that Arun Matheswaran is planning to complete a quick project with Lokesh Kanagaraj in the lead.

Following this buzz, netizens on social media have stated that Lokesh Kanagaraj should concentrate only on directing, as he is now one of the biggest directors in Kollywood. They feel that if he enters full-time acting, Tamil cinema will miss a quality director, much like how it is currently missing Atlee’s directorial work.

In the past, many directors in Kollywood have turned to acting, such as Cheran and Samuthirakani. While some became successful, others failed, so Lokesh Kanagaraj should make a wise decision.

Also, some Kollywood audience members feel that once Lokesh Kanagaraj finishes all his best projects as a director, he could then turn to acting, similar to how SJ Suryah is doing.
