Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, and Trisha in the lead roles, was released in theaters on June 5th and received disastrous responses from audiences.

Since its announcement, Thug Life has generated huge anticipation among audiences as Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan reunited for this project after 38 years, following their cult classic Nayakan.

In this scenario, recently, many media houses reported that Mani Ratnam had apologized to the audience for the film’s terrible failure and that he was also mentioned, to those who expected another Nayakan from them, all he could say was “We are sorry, and it was never our intention to go back.”

In response to this, Madras Talkies, Mani Ratnam’s production house, has clarified that Mani Ratnam never apologized and no official announcement was made regarding this. They stated that the news of Mani Ratnam apologizing was untrue.

Following this, netizens responded that Thug Life was a terrible disaster, and the losses were huge for buyers. In this situation, with news one day that Mani Ratnam had apologized and the next day a denial, they questioned how a legendary director could act in such a manner and what purpose it serves, as it doesn’t compensate anyone who suffered significant losses from the film’s failure.
