The most anticipated pan-Indian movie Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra Rao, and Shoubin Shahir, and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14th.
Even though Coolie has huge pre-release buzz in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states, it still lags in creating hype in the North Indian market.
Although Aamir Khan is doing a powerful cameo role in this movie, and the Coolie team has officially announced it by releasing a poster, Coolie still doesn’t have much hype amongst North Indian audiences.
Some trade experts commented on social media that Coolie has the potential to become Kollywood’s first ₹1000 crore movie, and to achieve this feat, the movie’s success in the North Indian market is crucial.
So far, only two singles are out from the movie, and many Kollywood audiences believe that after the trailer or teaser of Coolie is released, the hype for the movie will skyrocket all over India.
Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is clashing with Coolie in theatres on August 14th; therefore, it’s crucial to increase the hype in North Indian markets to acquire a decent screen count.
However, with one month still left for the release, it remains to be seen whether the Coolie team manages to generate good pre-release hype in North Indian markets with well-planned promotion campaigns in the following days.
