Ustaad Bhagat Singh Star’s Big U Turn After Controversy

Actor and director Parthiban recently approached the Madras High Court seeking a no caste and no religion certificate. After hearing the plea, the court directed the Sholinganallur Regional Commissioner to issue the certificate without delay.

The issue gained attention after Parthiban’s speech at the Ustaad Bhagat Singh pre-release event. During his address, he said he is a Telugu boy from the Naidu caste and described it as his identity, while adding that he is not fluent in Telugu.

His remarks led to criticism on social media, with many questioning the need to speak about caste at a film event. Some users felt the comments were unnecessary and believed they were made to attract attention through controversy.

Following the backlash, Parthiban applied for a no caste and no religion certificate. As there was no immediate progress from the Sholinganallur Regional Commissioner, he decided to move the Madras High Court for further action.

After filing the petition, Parthiban addressed the media and acknowledged that his words had hurt sentiments. He said the situation made him reflect and led to his decision to formally distance himself from caste and religious identity.

The court, after reviewing the case, instructed the concerned authority to issue the certificate before April 29. The justice also appreciated Parthiban’s decision, noting the intent behind his move.

This development has now gone viral and sparked widespread discussion online. Reactions remain mixed, with some supporting his decision while others continue to debate the events that led to this situation.
