The shooting of Vijay’s last movie, Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, is progressing at a fast pace, and yesterday, the Jana Nayagan team officially announced that the movie will be released for Pongal 2026.
Initially, Parasakthi’s producer, Aakash Baskaran, confirmed in a recent interview that the Parasakthi team is aiming for a Pongal 2026 release.
Following Jana Nayagan’s release date announcement, Aakash Baskaran posted an emoji tweet with fire and drums and mentioned “This Pongal.” So, it’s almost confirmed that Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan are set for a Pongal 2026 clash.
While Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is a strong political movie, Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi is based on the anti-Hindi agitation, so it looks like both movies will be more content-oriented, say critics.
After the blockbuster success of Amaran, Sivakarthikeyan has officially entered the big league, making it exciting to see who will win the Pongal 2026 clash.
