Pooja Hegde’s item dance number in Rajinikanth’s most anticipated Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is the hot topic of Kollywood town after the official announcement from Sun Pictures this morning.
After the announcement, many netizens on social media started to criticize Lokesh Kanagaraj, mentioning that Lokesh has now lost his prime phase of being a unique director and is going to deliver mediocre item dance numbers in his movies.
Also, he never resorted to cheap gimmicks like item songs and using heroines as glam dolls in his movies, but why he is doing this in Coolie is a big question mark.

But in Coolie, Lokesh’s decision to include an item number could be due to pressure from Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures.
Jailer became a blockbuster success, and in Jailer, Tamannaah’s item dance number Kaavaalaa was one of the major highlights for the movie’s hype. But because of Jailer’s grand success, adding a forced item number to a thriller genre movie is just the worst decision made by Lokesh Kanagaraj, says the Kollywood audience.
However, we have to wait and watch after the release of Coolie whether Pooja Hegde’s item number adds value to the film or if it is just a mediocre addition.
