The Tollywood box office has been running high and dry after the release of Kalki. We had Indian 2 in the middle but it went rather unnoticed at the domestic box office.
Coming to the point, we have a new arrival in theaters tomorrow and it is Dhanush’s Raayan which is releasing on the 26th of this month.
Hype wise, there isn’t much going into this film in the Telugu belt considering the lack of reliability factor. The presence of Dhanush is the only matter of interest for this film.
The unit held an event in Hyderabad recently as a mark of their promotional campaign here.
Dhanush has a soft corner amongst the Telugu audience as the perception is that he makes decent films that often have a novel storyline.
This time, Dhanush has written and directed Raayan which could be considered the USP of the film. It has SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan and others in important roles.
Though there is not a lot going into the pre-release hype of the film, it might well attract a section of the audience following its release if the word of mouth is good. Will that happen? We will know the answer tomorrow.
