Rajinikanth's Disaster Annaatthe Still Haunts Theater Fined

Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe was a disaster at the box office when released back in 2021. Receiving negative reviews from critics and audiences, it was not just a box office disaster but also made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

A Rajinikanth fan took everything personally after his booked ticket for the film was overpriced at Rs 159.60.

This 159.60 amount became a huge number going forward due to several disputes.

The fan G. Devarajan took the matter to the Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (CDRC).

The hearing finally concluded in November of 2024 determining the theatre’s fault. The Casino Theatre was ordered to pay Rs 12k along with 9% annualized interest.

This was the compensation for legal fees, mental distress, and deficiency in service.
