Sivakarthikeyan Condition Shocks Director: Project Shelved?

Sivakarthikeyan is currently working on Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in October.

Before Seyon was announced, Sivakarthikeyan was expected to collaborate with Venkat Prabhu on a sci-fi project. This film was planned after Parasakthi and had received initial confirmation.

The project was backed by Sathya Jyothi Films. Both Sivakarthikeyan and Venkat Prabhu had even travelled to the US for CG-related work, and their photos had gone viral at that time.

However, recent reports suggest that the film has now been shelved. The project had been in pre-production for over a year before facing delays.

According to reports, Sivakarthikeyan did not provide call sheets on time. This reportedly led to discussions within the Producers’ Council regarding the delay.

It is also said that Sivakarthikeyan wanted changes in the script. He reportedly suggested reducing the budget, considering the risks based on his current market position.

Meanwhile, reports claim that Venkat Prabhu returned an advance amount of 4.5 crores. However, the production house is said to be seeking 8 crores, including interest.

Some social media trackers believe the nature of a sci-fi film requires long production timelines. They also point out that Ayalaan did not perform well, which may have influenced this decision.

On the other hand, some critics feel that the actor should have taken this call earlier. Dropping the project after pre-production has raised concerns about professional commitments.

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the shelving of the project. The entire issue remains based on speculation, though it continues to trend widely online.
