Following the failure of Coolie, Rajinikanth is all set to return with his next release, which is the highly anticipated Jailer 2 directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, and it is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15th.
Since the original Jailer was a massive success, Nelson Dilipkumar has mounted Jailer 2 with a huge star cast, including the additions of SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vidya Balan.
Even though SJ Suryah is one of the finest actors and has a huge fan following for his intense performances, his recent films have ended up as terrible failures and he is now striving for a comeback.
Earlier, when SJ Suryah made a re-entry into Kollywood after a long gap and started acting in antagonist roles, most of the films he was part of emerged as hugely successful ventures. Consequently, many Kollywood audiences came to believe that if SJ Suryah was part of a film, it would be a sure-shot hit.
However, after he continued acting in antagonist roles in many movies, he eventually hit a saturation point and his performances began to feel repetitive to audiences.
At the same time, films such as Indian 2, Game Changer, LIK and even the recently released Sardar 2, in which he played the antagonist, ended up as failures. Subsequently, many Kollywood audiences started criticizing SJ Suryah for his poor script selection, claiming that he is wasting his caliber on below-par films.
In this scenario, especially since the recently released trailer of Jailer 2 made it evident that SJ Suryah will be the main antagonist of the film, many of his fans hope the actor will make a massive comeback with this film.
They also believe Nelson Dilipkumar will have utilized SJ Suryah well in Jailer 2, noting that if the film emerges as a massive pan-Indian success, it will help SJ Suryah reach an even larger section of the audience.
Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Jailer 2 will meet the audience’s expectations and emerge as a blockbuster success, helping SJ Suryah make a massive comeback upon its release on October 15th.
