Suriya’s Scene: Will the Trailer Turn the Tide?

Suriya's Scene Faces a Trailer Test Now

Following the back to back commercial success of Karuppu and Vishwanath and Sons, Suriya is all set to return with his third release of the year, which is Scene directed by Jithu Madhavan and it is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6th as a Diwali special.

According to recent reports, the anticipated trailer of this film will most probably be released on October 25th during a promotional event planned in Dubai.

Despite the fact that Scene is the immediate next film from Jithu Madhavan after the massive success of Aavesham and marks the debut of Malayalam actor Naslen in Kollywood, it does not have good pre-release hype among audiences.

So far, including the recently released special teaser of Naslen, a release date announcement teaser and two singles have been released from the film. Unfortunately, all the promotional materials have failed to create the expected impact and have gone largely unnoticed.

Consequently, the pre-release hype for Scene now solely relies on the trailer scheduled for October 25th. In case the trailer also fails to meet audience expectations, there is a strong possibility that Scene could end up with the lowest opening for a Suriya film in recent times.

This is because Scene is releasing alongside the pan-Indian film Ramayana, which will have a wider release with a massive screen count. With such poor pre-release buzz, Scene will not be able to post solid opening-day figures, clashing with the giant Ramayana.

Therefore, the success of the trailer is now crucial for Scene. It remains to be seen whether the trailer meets audience expectations and helps the film gain solid pre-release hype upon its release.
