Tamil Exploding, But Telugu Not Making Noise!

Tamil Film Music Scene OM

The kind of extraordinary musical talent that is being produced by Tamil cinema in the recent past has been through the roof. First, it was the case of outrageously talented Anirudh Ravichander, and this is now carried by Sai Abhyankar.

And now we have the case of a couple of Tamil film films that are coming up with pretty impressive audio albums and soundtracks.

Two films in discussion here are Scene and Om. The first is an action drama featuring Surya in the lead role, and it has music composed by Sushin, who had delivered a blockbuster album for Aavesham.

There are a couple of songs in this Scene album, which are pretty impressive in nature and have a very fresh sounding. Particularly the Aeroplane song is pretty impressive as it has a very funky and fresh vibe.

Then we have the case of Om, featuring Dhanush, which has the music composed by one of the buzzing music directors in Indian cinema at this moment, Sai Abhyankar. The songs from this album have already turned out to be pretty impressive.

The Veera Veera and Om Symphony (Sai Pallavi’s introduction song) are absolute top tier songs. They have very intricate programming that we only observe with some of the most talented music composers of this generation.

If we compare this on a like-for-like basis, it needs to be said that the Telugu audio albums in the recent past have been completely lacking. We have arrived at a point where the Telugu youth on social media have started to listen to Tamil songs for freshness and vibrance.

It wasn’t long before Telugu cinema was beaming with talent like Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman but things have gone south rather quickly of late.
