
Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, was released in theaters on June 5th and has received disastrous responses from audiences and critics.
Due to Kamal Haasan’s statement that Kannada was born in Tamil, Thug Life’s release was banned in Karnataka by the Karnataka High Court and to which Kamal Haasan appealed against this ban in the Supreme Court.

After hearing the case, the Supreme Court ordered that any movie with a CBFC certificate should be released and the Karnataka government should ensure the smooth release of this movie in the state.
However, Thug Life’s Karnataka distributors stated that there would be no use in releasing Thug Life now.

In this scenario, according to reports, Raj Kamal Films International lost almost 30 crore rupees due to the ban on Thug Life’s release in Karnataka.
Following this, some netizens on social media trolled that, because of the Kannada language controversy, people in Karnataka were escaped from watching Thug Life in theatres and wasting their money on this scrap and if Thug Life releases now after sorting all the issues, no one in Karnataka is going to watch it in theatres, due to the ultra disaster responses from the audiences.

Additionally, some trade experts responded that Thug Life was one of the biggest disasters in Kollywood in recent times, and its box office collections were even lower than Kamal Haasan’s previous disaster, Indian 2.
Nevertheless, Kollywood audiences are hoping that even though Thug Life’s failure is a terrible setback for Kamal Haasan, he will bounce back with his upcoming projects.
