So far this year, after a series of blockbuster medium-budget movies in Kollywood such as Kudumbasthan, Dragon, and Tourist Family, audiences are now highly anticipating the release of two biggies, which are Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life and Dhanush’s Kuberaa.
Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on June 5th, and Dhanush’s Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula, is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 20th.
Both highly anticipated movies are releasing with just a two-week gap. Both films are unique in their ways and feature solid casting.
On one hand, there’s the legendary director Mani Ratnam; on the other, Sekhar Kammula is also unique in his narrative style. Additionally, the recently released teasers for both movies have created huge expectations.
While Thug Life is a gangster action-drama, Kuberaa is a raw, intense crime thriller. Even though Thug Life has a little extra buzz than Kuberaa, Kuberaa looks promising with the intense performances from Dhanush and Nagarjuna.
However, it remains to be seen which movie will win big, or if both will succeed. We will soon know the results as both movies are going to be released within a two-week gap.
