Good Bad Ugly (GBU), starring Ajith Kumar and Trisha in the lead roles and directed by Adhik Ravichandran, was released in theaters yesterday and has received mixed responses from audiences.
Despite the reviews, some Nayanthara fans and netizens on social media commented that Trisha’s acting performance in the movie was below average and that she looked old in the film.
In response, Trisha shared a note on her Instagram story that read:
“Toxic people, how do you guys do life or sleep well? Does sitting on social media and posting nonsensical stuff about others really make your day? I really feel terrible for you guys and the people you live with or are surrounded by.”
Trisha’s public note is now trending on social media. Following this, many users have commented that most of the troll memes targeting Trisha were being posted by Nayanthara’s fans out of jealousy — especially because Trisha continues to bag big projects. They feel that Trisha’s note is a strong response, or a “slipper shot,” to those haters.
Currently, Trisha is playing the female lead in two of Kollywood’s most anticipated films — Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life and Suriya 45 — as well as the Telugu film Vishwambhara, starring Chiranjeevi.
It remains to be seen how these projects will shape up and whether all three films go on to become major box office successes.
