Rajinikanth’s most anticipated Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, was released in theatres on October 10th and has acquired mixed responses from audiences and critics.
Yesterday, the team officially announced that this movie has collected more than 240 crores worldwide at the end of its first-week theatrical run.
The first-week collection is pretty much decent for this content-oriented movie, but it doesn’t up to what Jailer has collected in its first weekend.
Also, Vettaiyan was released as a Pooja Holidays special, and the first weekend was full of festival holidays, so it managed to earn a good amount in the box office collections despite mixed responses from the audiences.
But yesterday, which is Monday, Vettaiyan crashed in the box office collections all over the world. As per trade sources, Vettaiyan has collected only 3.5 crores in Tamil Nadu and 6 crore gross across India.
This is a huge drop after the holidays, and also the collection of this movie is affected by rains in Tamilnadu. If this scenario continues, Vettaiyan may end up as an average one in terms of box office collections.
