Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, the action thriller features Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, and Regina Cassandra in key roles. The film collected 32 crores on its opening day in India, with Tamil Nadu contributing ₹25-26 crore, making it Ajith’s second-biggest opener after Valimai.
Karnataka added ₹4.15 crore, while the Telugu states, Kerala, and the rest of India together brought in around ₹2.45 crore.

Though it became the highest Tamil Nadu opener of the year, beating Madha Gaja Raja, that doesn’t mean anything huge. Ajith’s box office numbers are usually compared with Vijay’s, not Vishal’s.
Vijay’s last three films—Leo, Beast, and GOAT—all crossed 30 crores on day one in Tamil Nadu, even with mixed talk.

Compared to Ajith’s recent films, Vidaamuyarchi performed better than Thunivu (₹21 crore) but fell short of Valimai (₹28 crore).
However, the film’s weekend bookings don’t look strong, making it tough to reach ₹100 crore in the first four days. The real test will be how well it holds up on weekdays.
As of now, it seems like Vidaamuyarchi may turn out to be another disaster for Lyca Productions which is already bleeding with flops and disasters.
