After Hacks, Microsoft Promises Better Security

Microsoft was at the receiving end of some major hacking incidents, and now they are promising a better security and hacking-proof method to the users.

The basic feature they want to incorporate is AI into the system, making it act on the issues quicker.

In a recent blog post, the tech giant revealed their commitment to anticipating and adapting to advanced cyber threats. This includes a focus on three key areas of engineering advancement: transforming software development, implementing enhanced identity protections, and ensuring quicker responses to vulnerabilities.

Though the company has always been known for its amazing software, now it’s emerging as a big player in cybersecurity. However, earlier this year, certain events questioned the credibility of the company.

Earlier this year, hackers exploited stolen signing keys to forge authentication tokens, gaining access to emails from around 25 organizations, including US government agencies. Among the victims were high-profile officials. Microsoft attributed the attack to China.

Now, a lot of allegations are resurfacing on the platform, and the most prominent one exists, such as the lack of transparency from the company itself. Also, some serious issues, including underestimating the threats, are enough to degrade the image of the software giant.

Microsoft is dedicated to creating an AI-powered defense system to safeguard customers and nations worldwide from cyber threats. The rapid proliferation of devices and constant internet connectivity has generated an immense volume of digital data, making AI advancements crucial in addressing this critical cybersecurity challenge.

Additionally, Microsoft plans to utilize AI-driven analysis and other measures to fortify code against advanced threats and enhance identity protection in light of escalating password attacks and increasingly sophisticated hacking methods.

As part of this effort, they will implement a new, fully automated key management system with safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, even in the event of underlying process corruption. This commitment aligns with the vision of “trustworthy computing” outlined by company co-founder Bill Gates in 2002, emphasizing the imperative to continuously improve security measures.
