Air India ‘Cancelled’ Flight Takes Off, No Update?

Sudden Delay and Cancellation

They were supposed to reach Mumbai on the morning of November 22. On the day of travel, they first received a delay notice at 11:30 AM. Less than an hour later, the flight was marked cancelled with no explanation.

No Support and Limited Options

Air India offered only two choices. One was a rebooking on Lufthansa for the next day. The other was a refund, which was unhelpful because last-minute fares had crossed $2,500. Attempts to contact customer service led nowhere, as representatives only asked them to fill out an online form.

After reading comments on their post, the traveller checked FlightAware. They discovered that the so-called cancelled Air India flight had actually taken off. This raised concerns about misleading communication and why the airline moved them to a much later flight.
