Lufthansa Blames Sick Passenger for Flight Denial?

The worst part of travelling is being denied boarding. That’s exactly what one Lufthansa passenger faced recently. They later shared their upsetting airport experience online.

Passenger Turned Away Before Boarding

The passenger arrived at the airport for a short-haul Lufthansa flight. Feeling unwell due to stress and grief from a relative’s sudden death, they informed the check-in staff about their condition.

Airline Staff Refused Boarding

They mentioned having a headache and nausea but showed no signs of fever. They were fit to travel. Yet, Lufthansa staff refused to let them board, saying they couldn’t take the risk and asked the passenger to return home.

Customer Service Response

Later, the passenger contacted customer service. However, Lufthansa claimed the traveller had voluntarily chosen not to board. Under company policy, this meant no refund or compensation.

Policy and Passenger Rights

This incident raises concerns about how airlines use discretion and how clearly they explain their policies. Safety is important, but in this case, the passenger’s condition didn’t seem risky.

Unanswered Questions

The matter now rests with Lufthansa’s customer care, but it appears little has been done to resolve it. The traveller is still left without answersor support.
