Lufthansa Rebooking Nightmare: 20 Calls, No Help

Lufthansa passenger faces ticketing issue

A Lufthansa Airlines passenger recently went through a frustrating experience while travelling from Manchester to Buenos Aires with a layover in Zurich. What began as a simple journey turned into a long struggle due to the airline’s poor handling of a schedule change.

Schedule Change Creates Trouble

After Lufthansa adjusted its schedule, the passenger’s connection time in Zurich became unworkable. They repeatedly asked to be shifted to an earlier Manchester Zurich flight, even offering to pay for the change. Despite making over twenty calls, the airline never reissued the ticket.

Empty Promises, No Action

Lufthansa agents kept assuring that tickets would be “unlinked and reissued” or that “seats were being held,” but no visible progress was made. Written complaints sent to the airline’s offices in Heathrow and Frankfurt also received no response.

No Help from Authorities

When the passenger approached the UK Civil Aviation Authority, they were redirected to the German arbitration body, which requires a two-month waiting period before taking action. This left the traveller without immediate support.

In-Person Resolution May Work Better

Now, the frustrated passenger is considering visiting a Lufthansa ticket desk in person to resolve the issue. At major Lufthansa hubs, airport ticketing staff can access reservation systems directly and often provide faster solutions.

Customer Service Under Question

This entire episode highlights how poorly Lufthansa handles customer grievances. Long delays, vague responses, and no accountability have made the airline’s service experience disappointing for travellers.
