Student Club Scam? Passenger Slams Qatar Airways

An international student from India has raised strong concerns about Qatar Airways’ Student Club, describing the program as misleading and unreliable. The airline advertises the scheme as an exclusive service for students, offering extra baggage, travel flexibility, and special discounts.

Incorrect Membership Activation

The student shared that even after fulfilling all eligibility criteria and submitting documents, the account was activated under the Privilege Club instead of the Student Club. The activation email itself confirmed the wrong membership status.

Frustrating Follow-ups

The complaint stated that the student spent more than a week chasing support. Multiple accounts were created as instructed, with repeated submissions of screenshots and documents. Despite these efforts, the error remained unresolved.

Lack of Accountability

The student described the experience as full of broken promises, shifting timelines, and no escalation from the support team. This left the student with stress, wasted time, and possible financial losses from having to book alternative flights.

Impact on Trust

This incident underlines the need for transparent customer service, especially for international students who rely on trust and clarity. Without accountability, Qatar Airways risks damaging its credibility and appearing deceptive in its promotions.
