B1/B2 Rejection: Young Indian Women Threat to US?

US visa rejections in India are on the rise, and no one knows the exact reason. A 30-year-old woman’s experience at the US consulate in Delhi highlights just how random the process is.

After waiting a year for her B1/B2 visitor visa interview, she was rejected after just five questions in under two minutes.

As she shares her experience online, people speculate that her short answers to the visa officer might have led to the rejection. Notably, when asked why she wanted to visit the US, she gave a one-word response, “Vacation” without offering any further details.

However, it’s not just about the answers. Some believe her being young and single also played a role in the denial.

Young, unmarried women are often seen as a “high risk” for immigration. Without clear ties to India that would force her to return, the officer could assess that you might settle in a foreign country.

At the end of the day, there’s only one person who knows the real reason: the Visa officer. Some people get approved by keeping it short and simple, while others are sent away with a rejection letter.

The entire process is flawed, frustrating, and unpredictable. With the US cracking down on visas, there’s no certainty about what could lead to a denial.

Indian applicants don’t have much choice but to keep trying. Be confident in the interviews, but even that might not be enough. Your future could depend entirely on the whims of an officer sitting at the consulate.
