According to his Reddit post, his Labor Condition Application (LCA) lists three addresses: a Florida client office, a Florida friend’s house, and his home in Connecticut. His hybrid job required three days in the office and two remote, but family reasons kept him from relocating permanently.

Frequent Travel Triggers Inspection

He says he worked full-time from the Florida office for two months before travelling frequently between the two states. That travel pattern apparently drew the DHS’s attention, leading to an unexpected worksite inspection.

DHS Visits Spark Trouble

Officials first showed up at the Florida client office. Then, they went to his friend’s Florida house, where the friend’s girlfriend allegedly said she didn’t know him. That remark created trouble for the H-1B worker, who later faced further questioning.

Accusations and More Checks

He explained his situation truthfully but couldn’t recall specific dates during the visit. The officer accused him of lying and called again later that evening. The next day, DHS requested ID, W-2, pay slips, and proof of recent work, which he sent immediately.

Tightening Enforcement Worries Workers

The worker now fears that even with full compliance, an overzealous officer might still recommend revoking his petition. With stricter checks on H-1B work locations, hybrid roles and multiple addresses are drawing more scrutiny than ever before.
