Honest Murderer; Calls Police After Killing

A 37-year-old man died after an argument with his closest friend at the Ovation at Arrowbrook apartment complex in Herndon, Virginia. Fairfax County Police responded to a top-floor parking garage incident.

Officers found a gunshot victim just after 11 p.m. on Thursday. Despite urgent first assistance, Robert Fisher, the victim, died on the scene. Police identified Major Stokes, a 40-year-old suspect. Stokes shot and killed his old buddy during the dispute.

Robert’s mother, Theresa Fisher, was devastated, saying the two men had been closest friends for years. She sobbed because she didn’t know what caused the tragedy. The authorities said that Fisher’s 16-year-old daughter, who was present, contacted 911 after hearing the gunshots. The dispatcher told cops that the youngster was terrified to approach her father, who was bleeding heavily.

Stokes called the police after the incident. Stokes confessed to Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis. Stokes was quickly found and jailed for second-degree murder and using a weapon in a crime. Theresa Fisher said her son’s 17-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter saw the tragedy. She said Robert’s death had devastated the family.
