Indian Jailed For Sexual Assault On London Train

A 39-year-old Indian-origin man, Mukhan Singh, has been sentenced to 16 weeks in jail and placed on the sexual offenders register for seven years after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a young woman on a train from Birmingham to London.

The incident took place when Singh began to stare at the victim and then sat next to her, sexually assaulting her during the journey. The victim, in her twenties, recorded footage of Singh and reported the incident to a staff member as he was preparing to disembark at Leamington Spa.

During his police interview, Singh audaciously claimed that the victim had “wanted” the assault. Detective Constable Harris, the Investigating Officer, condemned Singh’s actions as a “brazen and targeted attack” and expressed satisfaction with the court’s custodial sentence.

Singh was arrested at Leamington station, and the police took swift action in response to the victim’s report. DC Harris emphasized their commitment to supporting victims and bringing offenders to justice in cases of sexual offenses.
