Netflix’s recent documentary series ‘American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden’ has become a huge hit now. And it has gathered huge hype in India particularly. And the reason is very geo-political.
There have been many documentaries about the 9/11 incident and how America hunted down Osama Bin Laden and eliminated him. But this one is working out so well because now there is a great tension between India and Pakistan now and it is working in favour of the series.

It is the timing that has stirred up interest in people about the show. Osama Bin Laden was killed in Abbottabad in Pakistan very near to a military base. And this supports India’s claim of Pakistan’s army supporting terrorism.
After the Pahalgam attack, Indian audiences loved a well made and fresh documentary that is about an operation to kill Osama inside Pakistani soil.

This is due to chance and timing that the documentary is a superhit in India when Indian originals are not working out at all. The nationalist sentiment is overlapping with the sentiment of the American Operation.
There is a possibility that the series might not have been this much popular in India if the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor were not to happen at this time.
