2024 saw some big web series disappoint. Despite being hyped, Mirzapur Season 3, Tribhuvan Mishra: CA Topper and Undekhi Season 3 failed to impress, the problem of sustaining long running stories.
After a 4 year wait Mirzapur Season 3 came back but failed to deliver. Critics pointed out lack of clear storytelling, underutilization of characters like Kaleen Bhaiya and slow pace. The once intense crime drama felt stretched and uninspired.

This Netflix series tried to blend comedy with a quirky premise but failed to create a cohesive story. Despite Manav Kaul’s strong performance the series was all over the place and chaotic in storytelling, wasted its potential.
SonyLIV’s Undekhi came back with more crime and drama but didn’t innovate. Varun Badola’s villain brought some freshness but recycled plotlines and over stretched conflicts made the season feel repetitive.

The problem for these series was to maintain narrative freshness. Mirzapur failed in plot, Tribhuvan Mishra was all over the place and Undekhi relied too much on old tropes, shows the risk of prolonged storytelling.
The disappointments of 2024 shows we need concise and engaging stories. OTT creators need to innovate and tell strong stories to keep audience hooked in a crowded space.
