Chhorii, the 2021 horror drama was a film that aimed to offer a nerve chilling ambience with a strong social message. It dealt with the themes of female feticide and girl child murders prevalent in rural India.
It had stars like Nushrat Bharuccha and Mita Vashisht in pivotal roles. Directed by Vishal Furia, it was directly released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
It received mixed reviews but critics and audiences mostly felt that a lot could be improved in terms of the horror and plot. Now, the makers have released the trailer for Chhorii 2 that will continue the story further.
The film is going to release on 11 April on Amazon Prime Video, and to fans’ excitement it also has Soha Ali Khan in an important role. She is returning in a film after a long break and fans hope that her performance will be worthwhile.
The sequel is certainly risky if the makers did not improve their previous shortcomings. A solid horror film has been missing from the industry for long, it will be interesting to see if Chhorii 2 unlocks its full potential.
