Raj & DK’s directorial venture Citadel: Honey Bunny is set to release on Amazon on 7 November. It has Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan in lead roles.
In a recent interview co-director Raj revealed that Samantha’s health condition was really bad during the shoot and no one was sure what it exactly was. He said that it was much later that they came to know that she had Myositis – an immune system disorder.
He shared that on many occasions they would be waiting for Samantha to begin her shoot but she would be late. They would get to know much later that she had fainted or had a blackout.
Despite her condition Samantha delivered some intense performance. Varun Dhawan also praised his co-star for overcoming all odds and fulfilling her professional commitment.
Raj & DK had already worked with Samantha in the season 2 of Family Man, where she played the villain. And in this spin-off of the American TV series Citadel that stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden – Varun and Samantha will be seen playing spy-agents.
Even Samantha spoke openly about her condition in one of the press meets; she revealed how she was not ready for the show and wanted someone else to play the lead. She jokingly said that Raj & DK wouldn’t even take her to the hospital.
