Casey Bloys, HBO’s CEO, has provided a sad update on the highly awaited Euphoria season 3. So far, two seasons have been released for the worldwide popular high school drama series. In February 2022, HBO acquired the drama for a third season.
According to Deadline, HBO has yet to announce a production date for Euphoria Season 3. The Zendaya starrer’s production has been delayed “because there are a lot of timetables that we need to align,” according to Bloys. The HBO executive reassured fans, however, that creator Sam Levinson “is busy writing” the third installment.
Euphoria had been renewed for Season 3 almost two years ago. We do not yet have an update on its manufacture. One of the key causes for this scenario (as stated by Bloys) is the performers’ hectic schedules. For example, Zendaya, the lead actress, was working on Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two and Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers.
Supporting cast members Sydney Sweeney (Madame Web, Reality, and Anyone But You), Jacob Elordi (Priscilla and Saltburn), and Hunter Schafer (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) have their demanding schedules during the previous two years.
In addition, Angus Cloud (who played Fez) died in September 2023 as a result of an accidental drug overdose. His absence will almost certainly influence the plot for Season 3. The bond between Fez and Maude Apatow’s Lexi was one of Season 2’s highlights. Sam Levinson may likely bury this plot out of respect for Cloud and steer Lexi in a new route in the following season. All the episodes are available on JioCinema.
