Netflix’s Controversial Title Gone but Trailer Fails?

Manoj Bajpayee in Gajab Raat Netflix trailer

The trailer for Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming film, Gajab Raat, has finally arrived. Releasing on October 23, 2026, on Netflix, the movie landed in controversy a few months ago when it was first announced due to its original title, which was Ghooskhor Pandat.

While the movie’s title has been changed now, the trailer looks decent, as there is nothing extraordinary to look out for. However, the investigation is expected to keep audiences hooked in their seats until the end.

Manoj Bajpayee is clearly expected to take the spotlight as a police officer. But the character’s writing looks messy, as he is once shown as an individual who is worried about the side that he needs to take, and the next moment, he is cracking jokes about a certain situation.

The trailer starts with a sequence of an injured girl being thrown out of the car in the middle of the road. The makers have possibly tried to create a hard-hitting moment here, but unfortunately, the scene comes out as a normal moment.

The sequences that follow hint at the fact that the movie might explore the concept of corruption or a regular situation where the authorities try to cover up and close the file on a case that might bring a bad reputation to them.

The characters played by all the actors look interesting, except for the brief glimpse of Nushrratt Bharuccha at the end, which appears a little unnecessary for a film that is dealing with the investigation of a serious crime. The action looks good, and after Manoj, it is Akshay Oberoi who is expected to leave an impact with his screen presence.

As of now, netizens are more excited to see whether the previous title has anything to do with the main storyline of the film. Most of them said that an investigative thriller like Gajab Raat can be a good choice to watch at home during a festive season and that it is a better choice compared to the new movies that have arrived at the theatres.

Gajab Raat is surely expected to reach the top ten titles on Netflix in terms of viewership once it arrives on the platform. But it remains to be seen if it will emerge as one of the memorable films of Manoj Bajpayee’s career.
