Good Bad Ugly OTT: Sooner Than Expected?

Ajith Kumar’s most anticipated movie, Good Bad Ugly (GBU), directed by Adhik Ravichandran, was released in theaters on April 10th and has received mixed responses from audiences and critics.

Despite the reviews, GBU has been on a rampage at the box office, and according to reports, it has collected almost ₹172 crores in Tamil Nadu in just two weeks, emerging as Ajith Kumar’s highest-grossing movie.

Now, there is strong speculation that GBU is expected to be released on the Netflix OTT platform on May 8th, allowing people who missed the movie in theaters to watch it on OTT.

Many viewers who watched GBU in theatres have responded that it is nothing but a two-hour and nineteen-minute mashup showcasing Ajith Kumar’s mass scenes. While this worked in theaters due to the mass theatrical moments featuring the actor, some Kollywood audiences feel that GBU may not work for OTT viewers and could even become a source of trolling after its OTT release, as it contains many cringe-worthy scenes that could easily become meme templates.

At the same time, some people commented that certain moments in the movie have huge potential to go viral and could become trademark templates for the actor.

Nevertheless, as per buzz, GBU is going to be streamed on the Netflix OTT platform starting May 8th, and it remains to be seen whether it will become a blockbuster success on OTT as well after its release.
