Panchayat has been an unprecedented success on Prime Video. A small budget show with no big stars has made it so big and has been remade in several other languages as well.
But it looks like the platform is now falling into a trap of bringing more and more stories that are similar to Panchayat. A few days back, we saw the release of ‘Dupahiya’. And now Prime brings another TVF show ‘Gram Chiktsalay’.
‘From the makers of Panchayat’ is a very lucrative tag line for audiences but will it work as good as Panchayat did? The show will have a good star cast with actors like Amol Parashar and Vinay Pathak.
From the poster, it seems that it can be a story similar to Panchayat. A doctor from the city comes to a village with minimal resources and faces various problems. Maybe Prime and TVF need to change the setting of their stories a bit now.
TVF is a production house that has given us wonderful and unique stories over the years and the writing of each content is flawless. So it will be too quick to judge the show now, and hopefully this one will be as unique as Panchayat.
