Sanjay Leela Bhansali delivered a global superhit with his Netflix original series Heeramandi, featuring some of the big names of Bollywood. This sensational series which was a mammoth in production achieved unprecedented success and was trending almost everywhere around the world. Netflix has renewed Heeramandi for a second season. The makers made the announcement in a dramatic fashion with a flash mob of about 100 dancers performing to songs. Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, will be back for a second season, shared Monika Shergil, VP, Content, Netflix India.

Heeramandi became an instant hit and was trending in more than 43 countries all around the world. The grand series took more than 3 years of shooting, having more than 350 shoot days. There’s no reason to believe that the second season will be any less glamorous.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that in the second season, the women move from Lahore to the film world, most of them settling in Mumbai or Kolkata. The announcement has created a buzz around the industry and among the fans.
